Importing Templates
(For Advanced Users Only)
Use this option if you wish to create your
own label and import it into the program. It is
included primarily for use by those who sell new rolls and wish to use this
program
to make labels for their boxes.
CREATING A TEMPLATE
First, of course, you must create your label. Use
your favorite "paint" or "photoshop"
program to create your label. A complete tutorial on using these programs is
beyond
the scope of what can be discussed here. However, here are some guidelines:
Create your template at approximately 1000 x
1000 pixels
(This would be for a square label - adjust as necessary to the correct
proportions)
Use the minimum number of colors necessary.
Do not use 16 colors if you only need 2 or 255 colors if you only need 4
Do not add text (such as catalog number,
title, etc) from within the paint program.
This should be done from within PRBLM
Save the completed file in .gif format, noting the location of the file.
Do not save any transparency information.
IMPORTING THE TEMPLATE INTO PRBLM
After you have created the template, click the <Import Template> button.
You will first be prompted to enter the Width and Height of the label (in millemeters).
You will be then be
shown a system requestor to locate your file. After locating
and selecting the
.gif file
you have created, click <OPEN > to import the
template.
Your template will be converted and imported into PRBLM.
Depending on the speed
of your computer, this could take a minute or so.
